Pakistan, an emerging market full of opportunities. She is the second largest economy in South Asia, the sixth most populous country in the world, an important country along the 'Belt and Road', and an important economic and trade partner of China. In the power industry, her potential cannot be underestimated: NTDC, Pakistan's National Transmission and Distribution Company, predicted that from 2020 to 2047 Pakistan's average electricity demand would grow by 4.8%, and that by 2047 total electricity consumption was expected to be five times that of 2018. However, currently total installed capacity of Pakistan is relatively low and can hardly meet the local industries’ and residential electricity demand. Therefore, the electricity market is poised to grow.
Since its first CV type on-load tap-changer indirectly exported to Pakistan through a domestic transformer OEM in 1995, Huaming tap-changers have been operating smoothly in the local market, and achieved success in both industrial and utility applications: 10 unitss of CMDI-1000/126DE-12111W for WAPDA 500kV project have been put into operation; IESCO Power Company has recognized Huaming; and Kohat Cement, JDW Suger Mils JDW Suger Mils, Hatter Chemical Complex, etc. all chose Huaming. Pakistan market still has great potential, so the next step is to start from both grid and industrial users, and to gradually increase the recognition of Huaming in the local market.
In the South Asia region, in addition to Pakistan, Huaming also performed well in India, Bangladesh, Nepal and so on.
Along with economic development and increasing environmental awareness, Pakistan’s “Renewable Energy and Alternative Energy Policy (2020)” and “National Vision 2030” indicate that Pakistan will accelerate the construction of renewable energy power generation projects such as hydroelectric, wind and photovoltaic power generation. Hence, its power market is booming. Pakistan and even the whole South Asia is a market worth spending time to cultivate, and it is also an important part of Huaming's global strategy.
